MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102481 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, 2025, for 'system for real-time wastewater flow management.'

Inventor(s) include Vaibhav Mittal; Navdeep Singh; Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh; and Gaurav Pushkarna.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for real-time wastewater flow management comprises a network of sensors 101 configured to collect real-time data related to wastewater flow parameters, a machine learning module 102 trained to analyze the sensor data to forecast flow variations, a control unit 103 operatively connected to wastewater treatment and distribution components, a decision module 104 configured to dynamically adjust the operation of the components in response to the forecasts generated by the machine learning module 102, the system optimizes flow distribution, reduces energy consumption, prevents overflow events, and enhances overall treatment efficiency."
