MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102488 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, 2025, for 'system for planning a battery state-of-charge of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rekha; Dr. Rajeev Sobti; Preeti Khurana; and Dr. Sachin Kumar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for planning a battery state-of-charge of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, comprises a traffic information acquisition module 101 to receive real-time traffic data from a transportation system and the Internet of Vehicles, a traffic prediction module 102 predicts traffic speed of a road network using a spatio-temporal graph convolutional neural network model with an adaptive graph generation module, a global speed profile generation module 103 generates a long-term global speed profile based on the predicted traffic speed, a vehicle power balance module 104 establishes a simplified vehicle power balance model to estimate energy demand, an SOC trajectory planning module 105 plans a global reference SOC trajectory using the simplified power balance model and the global speed profile with an online dynamic protocol, an energy management control module 106 adjusts power split between the internal combustion engine and electric motor."
