MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102425 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, 2025, for 'system for optimizing mutation and recombination parameters in an evolutionary process.'
Inventor(s) include Archana Sehgal; Dr. Sourabh Kumar; Gazal Sharma; and Sami Anand.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for optimizing mutation and recombination parameters in an evolutionary process, comprising a representation module 101 configured to represent candidate solutions as strings in a Hamming space with an arbitrary finite alphabet, a distance computation module 102 configured to compute a distance between each candidate string and an optimum string, a beneficial operation identification module 103 configured to identify mutation or recombination operations as beneficial when they reduce the distance between the candidate string and the optimum string, a transition probability module 104 configured to derive transition probabilities between distance spheres centered on the optimum string based on geometric and combinatorial analysis and an optimization module 105 configured to determine at least one optimal mutation radius or recombination radius that maximizes the probability of transition into the optimum sphere, thereby optimizing evolutionary operator parameters over multiple generations."
