MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441035627 A) filed by Saint-Gobain Glass France, Courbevoie, France, on May 6, 2024, for 'system for monitoring and heating a glazing.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The system comprises a laminated glazing (102), a waveguide (104) configured to transmit acoustic or radio waves, a transducer (106) connected to the waveguide, a power unit (108) configured to supply electric power to the transducer (106), and a control unit (110) comprising a microcontroller (202). The transducer (106) is configured to generate acoustic or radio waves and receive reflected acoustic or radio waves. Further, the control unit (110) is connected to the transducer (106) and configured to determine defects or temperature on the laminated glazing (102) by processing the reflected acoustic or radio waves and operate the waveguide (104) to heat at least a portion of the laminated glazing (102) using the waveguide (104)."
