MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104633 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 30, 2092, for 'system for iot attack detection.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sunaina Ahuja; Dr. Sawinder Kaur Vermani; Dr. Atul Kumar Singla; and Dr. Megha Mehta.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for IoT attack detection comprises of a feature selection 101 module configured to utilize a genetic algorithm for identifying optimal and relevant features from network traffic data, the cost-sensitive learning module designed to address class imbalance 102 by assigning higher penalty to minority attack classes during model training, the deep learning module integrating a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for extracting spatial features and a Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) network for capturing temporal dependencies within IoT network traffic, and the classification module that processes the extracted spatiotemporal features to accurately detect diverse and complex network attacks.
