MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104240 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'system for indoor asset and personnel positioning in manufacturing environment.'
Inventor(s) include Gaurav Gupta; Dr. Rajeev Sobti; Dr. Balraj Kumar; and Archana Sehgal.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for indoor asset and personnel positioning in manufacturing environment that comprises of a plurality of predefined zones within the factory layout, low-cost routers and antennas for capturing Wi-Fi signal fingerprints in each zone, machine learning models configured to analyze captured fingerprints for real-time zone assignment and system configuration evaluation, and dynamic noise maps generated using sound sensor data to enhance positional accuracy. The system further includes feedback loops for automatic recalibration of fingerprint baselines in response to shifts in machinery layout or environmental factors, heatmaps for visual representation of positional likelihood overlaid with zone locations and noise intensity, and real-time transmission of localization data and noise maps to factory management dashboard for process optimization, resource allocation, compliance monitoring, and predictive maintenance."
