MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104247 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'system for identifying consumed food products using machine vision and deep learning.'
Inventor(s) include Vikas Verma; Lavish Kansal; Dr. Lalit Bhalla; and Dr. Vishal Sarin.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for identifying consumed food products using machine vision and deep learning comprises a cluster creation module configured to organize sensor nodes into clusters using a hybrid optimization approach integrating Particle Swarm Optimization and Grey Wolf Optimization, a cluster head selection module dynamically selects cluster heads based on residual energy and network conditions to ensure balanced energy consumption, a data compression module performs compressive sensing using a smoothed projected Landweber based hybrid compressive sensing technique, while a data transmission module optimizes communication between cluster heads and a base station to minimize energy use, a data reconstruction module accurately reconstructs the original sensor data from compressed data, and a simulation and evaluation module assesses performance metrics including throughput, residual energy, and network lifetime."
