MUMBAI, India, Jan. 3 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102900 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 25, 2025, for 'system for human activity recognition.'

Inventor(s) include Sami Anand; Dr. Sorabh Lakhanpal; Dr. Gaurav Sethi; and Dr. Varun Kumar.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for human activity recognition comprising a data acquisition module 101 configured to collect physical activity data from multiple sensor modalities, a feature extraction module 102 implementing a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (CNN) with three convolutional layers trained on raw sensor data to automatically produce deep features (DeepF), an activity classification module 103 comprising a support vector machine (SVM) classifier with an RBF kernel, configured to receive the extracted deep features from the CNN and classify human activities, an output interface configured to present activity recognition results for applications including fall detection and remote health monitoring."
