MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124931 A) filed by SR University, Warangal, Telangana, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'system for forecasting mci to alzheimer's disease transition using time-series modeling and survival prediction techniques.'

Inventor(s) include Athapuram Divya; and Dr. N Venkatesh.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention offers a solution to predict transition between Mild Cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer disease(AD) by the use of time series modelling and survival prediction algorithms. Longitudinal data of patients are processed by the system using time-conscious transformers to extract temporal interactions and survival models to determine the risk of MCI progression to AD. The system gives a score as a prediction, which is a measure of the probability of transition to AD in a given time period. The invention will help clinicians to recognize high-risk patients and offer individual treatment plans. The described system provides a new method of forecasting the development of Alzheimer Disease basing on Mild Cognitive impairment (MCI) through the use of the time-series modeling and survival analysis techniques. The system will offer clinicians real-time personalized disease progression predictions with the power of quantum-classical hybrid models and the power to secure the data obtained. The system can potentially enhance the process of clinical decision-making, patient monitoring as well as early intervention of people with the risk of getting Alzheimer Disease. The multiplicity of the data sources and the constant updating of the models is one of the factors leading to the system being flexible and capable of being correct in a variety of clinical environments."
