MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521133824 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'system for explainable autonomous threat detection and localized blast protection.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for explainable autonomous threat detection and localized blast protection, comprises of a body 101 mounted on a plurality of motorized wheels 102 for autonomous movement over a surface, an inspection unit 103 to detect explosive residues, abnormal thermal signatures, suspicious objects, or human presence, a multi-layer blast-protection barrier assembly to deploy one or more protective layers based on the predicted blast characteristics, a geolocation and environmental mapping unit to identify high-risk zones and pre-position the barrier assembly when threat probability exceeds a predefined threshold, an articulated arm 107 with a sensing suite 108 to non-contact inspect, isolate, or shield a suspicious object based on safety rules determined by the XAI model."
