MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511124760 A) filed by Sandeep Chand Kumain, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'system for estimating ev frequency, forecasting charging demand, and managing dynamic toll operations.'

Inventor(s) include Sandeep Chand Kumain; Soham Pahari; Prof Lalit Kumar Awasthi; Dr. Maheep Singh; Dr. Maroti Deshmukh; and Dr. Vikas Kukshal.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a system (100) for estimating EV frequency, forecasting charging demand, and managing dynamic toll operations, comprising a sensing module (102) to detect one or more parameters associated with a vehicle passing near the toll collection booth. Further system (100) comprises at least one processor (104), configured to determine a type of the vehicle, based at least on one or more parameters; determine via a spatio-temporal estimation module (106) communicatively coupled with the at least one processor (104), a frequency of EVs and traffic flow patterns across different geographic regions and time intervals; predict via a forecasting module (108), a demand of charging stations; compute via a deployment optimization module (110) optimal locations for EV charging stations based at least on the predicted demand and infrastructure availability; and adjust via a toll management module (112), the toll values in case the electric vehicle is determined."
