MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104249 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'system for enhancing energy efficiency and data management in wireless sensor networks (WSNs).'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sourabh Kumar; Soosan Chhabra; Dr. Deepak Prashar; and Dr. H Pal Thethi.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for enhancing energy efficiency and data management in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) comprising a cluster creation module 101 configured to organize sensor nodes into clusters, and a cluster head selection module 102 that selects cluster heads using a hybrid optimization approach integrating Particle Swarm Optimization and Grey Wolf Optimization, a data compression module 103 performs compressive sensing using a smoothed projected Landweber based hybrid compressive sensing technique, while a data transmission module 104 transmits compressed data from cluster heads to a base station, a data reconstruction module 105 reconstructs the original sensor data from the compressed data to maintain data fidelity, additionally, a simulation and evaluation module assesses performance metrics such as throughput, residual energy, and network lifetime, ensuring efficiency suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) applications."
