The system (100) operates using either a mobile device (102) employing built-in sensors or a retrofit wireless sensor module (106) attached to the tap or pipe. The classification unit (104) analyzes acoustic or vibration data to identify running water conditions. A communication interface (110) transmits tap status to user devices via BLE, and a notification unit (112) alerts users or facility managers for corrective action.
