MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104641 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'system for clinical trajectory prediction using a digital twin generative pretrained transformer.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Amit Dutt; Dr. Sawinder Kaur Vermani; Sumit Mittu; and Dr. Sourabh Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for clinical trajectory prediction using digital twin generative pretrained transformer comprises of a data ingestion module 102 configured to receive and process electronic health records without requiring data imputation or normalization, the digital twin generative pretrained transformer model designed to handle real-world data challenges including missingness, noise, and limited sample sizes by leveraging self-attention mechanisms, the prediction engine that forecasts patient health trajectories across multiple clinical conditions while maintaining distributions and cross-correlations of clinical variables, and the human-interpretable interface that provides explainable predictions to support clinical decision-making. The system further includes the evaluation module to benchmark module performance on diverse clinical datasets, ensuring accuracy, generalization, and applicability in various healthcare settings."
