MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102924 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 25, 2025, for 'system for classifying thyroid diseases.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for classifying thyroid diseases comprises of a training component 101 configured to train machine learning models on thyroid function data, a data augmentation 102 component employing generative techniques to generate synthetic samples for minority disease classes, a classification component 103 utilizing a network trained on augmented data to identify hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and normal thyroid function, an interpretability component 104 applying explainability methods to analyze feature importance and provide insights into diagnostic decisions, an evaluation component for benchmarking performance against multiple conventional models including logistic regression, random forest, and support vector machines, and an output component 105 delivering classification results to assist clinical decision-making, the system enhances accuracy, robustness, and reliability of thyroid disease detection, supports early intervention, reduces misdiagnosis, and provides interpretable insights for personalized patient care, improving overall clinical efficiency and decision support."
