MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202518071021 A) filed by P. E. S. Technologies Limited, Norfolk, United Kingdom, on July 25, for 'system for analysing volatile organic compounds in soil.'

Inventor(s) include Bailey, Jim; and Bailey, Graham.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a system (18) for analysing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in soil comprising an apparatus (2) and a soil VOC sensor strip (20), * wherein the apparatus (2) comprises a sampling chamber (4) for receiving soil, a sensor strip aperture (8) in the sampling chamber for positioning the sensor strip (20) in fluid communication with the sampling chamber (4), a power source and an electrical resistance detector, * wherein the sensor strip (20) comprises a flexible substrate (22) with a first surface and an array of semiconductor polymer sensors (24) arranged on the first surface, wherein each of the semiconductor polymer sensors (24) comprises a pair of electrodes wherein the pair of electrodes comprises a first electrode (26) and a second electrode (30), wherein a semiconductor polymer (30) is disposed between the first electrode (26) and the second electrode (28), and * wherein the sensor strip (20) is electrically connectable to the power source and the electrical resistance detector."
