MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411075263 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited, New Delhi, on Oct. 4, 2024, for 'system and method of optimized calibration for energy meters.'

Inventor(s) include Srinivas, Nikhil; and Phadke, Satyajit Suresh.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method (200) for calibrating an energy meter (214), the method includes connecting (202) the energy meter (214) to a jig (216). The method includes setting (204) the jig (216) to a first calibration point with a first current (I1), the first current (I1) is calculated as V I1 0.5 Lag (PF), wherein data from the energy meter and a reference value of the jig are collected to determine voltage, current, and angle correction factors. Further, the method includes setting (206) second calibration point, third calibration point and fourth calibration point with corresponding current levels calculated as V I2 0.5 Lag (PF), V I3 0.5 Lag (PF), V I4 0.5 Lag (PF) respectively and wherein the data from the energy meter and the reference value of the jig are collected to calculate current and angle correction factors."
