MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621030523 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on March 13, for 'system and method for wheelchair-integrated oxygen delivery with automatic depletion alerts.'

Inventor(s) include Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Prof. Pooja Verma; Dr. Shubhangi Jain; Swati Verma; Om Khare; and Arpita Pawar.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (102) for wheelchair-integrated oxygen delivery with automatic depletion alerts comprises a housing assembly (104) with snap-fit construction (106), an analog pressure sensor (108), and a hardware processor (110). The hardware processor (110) samples voltage from the analog pressure sensor (108) to generate digital pressure values and compares each value against a first threshold and a second threshold. The hardware processor (110) activates a first visual indicator (130) when the digital pressure value falls below the first threshold and above the second threshold to provide a warning alert. The hardware processor (110) activates a second visual indicator (132) and an audible transducer (134) when the digital pressure value falls below the second threshold to provide a depletion alert. The hardware processor (110) controls a binary flow control valve (112) for delivering oxygen at a substantially fixed flow rate."
