MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641001818 A) filed by Chettiar, Kannappan Karuppan, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 7, for 'system and method for verification of reasoning output.'

Inventor(s) include Chettiar, Kannappan Karuppan.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems and methods are disclosed for verification of reasoning prior to execution or reliance. A reasoning output, including a conclusion, recommendation, or action directive, is received from a reasoning-generating system and decomposed into a sequence of reasoning elements connecting inputs to the output. Each reasoning element is deterministically evaluated for integrity based on associated trust, provenance, or validation information, and an aggregate reasoning integrity measure representing cumulative degradation of support across the sequence is computed. The aggregate measure is compared to one or more predefined verification conditions to generate an explicit verification status indicating whether the reasoning is verifiable or unverifiable. The verification status is provided prior to execution, presentation, or reliance, enabling downstream systems or human users to exercise discernment by distinguishing reasoning that is supported by verifiable relationships from reasoning that is merely asserted. The disclosed systems and methods thereby support discernment and accountability in information-rich environments without determining correctness, outcomes, or decisions."
