MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641004630 A) filed by Poorani Chandrakumar, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 16, for 'system and method for verification, monitoring, and reward assignment based on real tree growth.'

Inventor(s) include Poorani Chandrakumar; and Kanishk Chandrakumar.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a system (100) for verification, monitoring, and reward assignment based on real tree growth. A user device (102) captures images and/or videos of an individually planted tree, which are analyzed by a processor (106) using machine-learning models and prestored reference data maintained in a blockchain based storage unit (104). Species type, health condition, authenticity, and morphological characteristics of the tree are verified by correlating ground-level images with satellite-derived vegetation data, aerial imagery, and computed vegetation indices including NDVI. A unique identifier is generated for each tree to enable longitudinal monitoring. A tree score and associated carbon credit are calculated based on growth parameters, vegetation indices, and species-specific carbon sequestration models, enabling reliable validation of tree survival and transparent reward assignment. The present disclosure also relates to a method (200) for verification, monitoring, and reward assignment based on real tree growth."
