MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511116645 A) filed by Daimler Truck Ag, Leinfelden-Echterdin, Germany, on Nov. 25, 2025, for 'system and method for thermal management of e-drive and battery pack in an electric vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Sunil Meduri; Babu Rao Ponangi; and Krishna Challa.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (400) and a system (102) is disclosed for thermal management of e-drive and battery pack in electric vehicle (EV). The system (102) comprises first surge tank hydraulically coupled to e-drive coolant circuit associated with e-drive, and second surge tank hydraulically coupled to battery coolant circuit associated with battery pack. The system (102) comprises first control valve to allow supply of coolant from first surge tank to battery coolant circuit, and second control valve to allow supply of coolant from second surge tank to e-drive coolant circuit. The system (102) comprises ECU operatively coupled to first and second control valve and monitors first temperature value of coolant in e-drive coolant circuit and second temperature value of coolant in battery coolant circuit. ECU actuates first and second control valve based on monitored first and second temperature values to maintain temperature of battery pack within pre-determined optimal temperature range."
