MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521105473 A) filed by Persistent Systems, Pune, Maharashtra, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'system and method for scalable repository-aware file path retrieval within large repositories.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Nitish Shrivastava; and Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a system and method for scalable repository-aware file path retrieval within large-scale software code repositories. The system employs a hybrid retrieval subsystem that generates candidate file paths using lexical and semantic indices. A constrained decoding subsystem refines the candidate paths using a fine-tuned large language model operating under a trie constraint. The model predicts single or multiple file paths using permutation-invariant set prediction loss and optionally hierarchical SoftMax classification. The system uses quantized low-rank adaptation, sequence packing, gradient checkpointing, and efficient attention mechanisms for model optimization. Incremental indexing enables continuous updates. The invention achieves high accuracy, low latency, and scalable performance for source code repositories containing large numbers of files."
