Inventor(s) include Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Prof. Aishwarya Patidar; Dr. Piyush Moghe; Vansh Sharma; and Ritik Patel.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a system for rural retinal screening with voice guidance. The system (102) includes a photovoltaic panel (104) that generates electrical power from solar radiation and a rechargeable battery (106) electrically coupled thereto for off-grid operation. An audio input device (108) captures patient speech, and a hardware processor (110) analyzes the speech to identify a spoken language from among multiple Indian languages. Proximity sensors (112) measure distance between the system (102) and a patient eye, enabling the processor (110) to generate voice prompts in the identified language providing real-time positioning guidance. An image sensor (114) captures fundus images when distance measurements fall within an optimal range. The processor (110) generates classification output indicating presence or absence of referable diabetic retinopathy and transmits examination results as Short Message Service messages via cellular network interface (116) without requiring internet connectivity."
