MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611000154 A) filed by Jamia Millia Islamia; and Aligarh Muslim University, New Delhi, on Jan. 1, for 'system and method for reconfiguring a photovoltaic array.'
Inventor(s) include Khatoon, Shahida; Jalil, Mohd Faisal; Ahmad, Mohd Faraz; and Arif, M Saad Bin.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (800) for reconfiguring a photovoltaic (PV) array is disclosed. The method includes receiving (802) a user input indicating dimensions of the PV array comprising PV modules in a matrix arrangement. The method (800) includes determining (804) a spatial position of each PV module using pre-defined rules. The pre-defined rules comprise determining a central cell address of the top-most row as the spatial position of a PV module at the left-most column. The pre-defined rules includes identifying subsequent cells by moving one unit cell above and one unit cell right. The method (800) includes determining (806) a reconfiguration matrix comprising spatial positions of PV modules. The method (800) includes reconfiguring (808) the PV array based on the reconfiguration matrix. The method optimizes performance of PV array by redistributing PV modules according to the reconfiguration matrix, thereby enhancing power generation under partial shading."
