MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521128942 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 18, 2025, for 'system and method for real-time residential environment monitoring and automation.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sagarkumar S. Badhiye; Dr. Pradnya Borkar; Manaswi Sakharwade; Samprada Kapate; and Sanika Mendjoge.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented system for real-time monitoring and intelligent automation of residential environments using artificial intelligence driven digital twin technology is disclosed. The system comprises a processor coupled to a memory and multiple processing modules. The system collects environmental data from Internet of Things sensors measuring temperature, humidity, light intensity, and motion across residential spaces. A data preprocessing module processes sensor measurements to generate normalized datasets through data cleaning and noise reduction. A digital twin modeling module creates a virtual representation mirroring real-time physical environment conditions based on normalized sensor data. A machine learning prediction module analyzes sensor datasets using decision tree classifiers, k-nearest neighbor algorithms, and logistic regression models to predict occupancy states and identify behavioral patterns. An intelligent automation module determines control actions for connected appliances by evaluating predicted occupancy and environmental parameters against threshold conditions."
