MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531129188 A) filed by Kalinga Institute Of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Dec. 19, 2025, for 'system and method for operating a turbocharged dual-fuel engine fueled with producer gas and hybrid biodiesel blends.'

Inventor(s) include Satapathy, Chinmaya; Nayak, Swarup Kumar; and Mishra, Purna Chandra.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a turbocharged dual-fuel engine system (100) comprises a compression ignition engine (102) having a combustion chamber, intake manifold, and exhaust manifold. A turbocharger (104) with turbine (106) and compressor (108) is operatively connected to pressurize intake air using exhaust gas energy. A producer gas supply system (110) with supply pipe (112) and flow regulation valve (114) introduces producer gas derived from biomass gasification into the intake air stream. A pilot fuel injection system (116) with fuel tank (118), injection pump (120), and nozzles (122) injects hybrid biodiesel blends to initiate combustion. A fuel control unit (124) regulates flow rates of both fuels to optimize energy share and maintain desired engine operation. The system may include a producer gas conditioning unit (126), waste heat recovery unit (128), and safety interlocks (130) for enhanced performance, efficiency, and operational safety in decentralized power generation applications."
