MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006173 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, New Delhi, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'system and method for on-site detection of colorimetric compound and/or elements in sample.'

Inventor(s) include Srivastava, Rajiv Kumar; Kumar, Dheeraj; Rani, Sweety; Kumar, Advitiya; and Nandan, Bhanu.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system for colorimetric detection (100) acquires sample image (301) of liquid or solid through an app. The system comprises a reference sticker (101) including RGB (Red, Green and Blue) colors pasted on plastic cuvettes (102). A set of known concentration and unknown concentration of calorimetric compound was prepared in cuvettes (102). Further, the calibration of known (201) and unknown samples (601) is performed by using the RGBGr of sample and concentration of sample under different light conditions (103). Subsequently, the final concentration of unknown calorimetric compound was determined by employing the RGBGr values of reference sticker (101) and color of sample."
