MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521114113 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 19, 2025, for 'system and method for multi-domain intent classification and dialogue state tracking.'
Inventor(s) include Ritu Vishwakarma; Dr. Hema Karande; and Dr. Nandhini K.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented system for enhancing intent classification and dialogue state tracking in multi-domain conversational interactions is disclosed. The system comprises a processor coupled to a memory storing executable instructions. The system includes a hybrid intent classification module combining zero-shot and few-shot learning capabilities of large language models with domain-specific fine-tuned classification models to process user intents without requiring extensive retraining. The system includes a retrieval-augmented generation module employing vector similarity computation algorithms to retrieve contextually relevant knowledge fragments from external knowledge bases. The system includes a dialogue state management module maintaining conversational context across multiple turns through memory augmentation components storing slot-value pairs and dialogue states. The system includes a response generation module integrating large language model outputs with retrieved knowledge fragments to produce factually accurate natural language responses."
