MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018309 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 18, for 'system and method for managing ambulance arrival to co-ordinate with emergency response.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented method (400) and system (100) for ambulance arrival detection and emergency response coordination is disclosed. The method includes tracking, by a GPS module, a real-time location of an ambulance. The method includes determining, by a processor, when ambulance enters predefined geographic boundary around healthcare facility based on location data from GPS module. The method includes transmitting, by communication module, geofence alert to healthcare facility in response to determining that ambulance has entered predefined geographic boundary. Further, the method includes detecting, by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning module, proximity of ambulance to healthcare facility based on signal strength from one or more BLE beacons positioned near healthcare facility. The method includes confirming arrival of ambulance at healthcare facility based on proximity data from BLE scanning module, and transmitting an arrival confirmation notification to the healthcare facility."
