MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611050838 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, on April 21, for 'system and method for integrating on-board photovoltaic power.'

Inventor(s) include Patel, Dilip Kumar; and Panigrahi, Ramanuja.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a charging system (100) that includes an electromagnetic interference filter (118) configured to receive electrical power from an alternating current grid source (116) and suppress input electrical noise. An active front-end converter (102) electrically connected to the electromagnetic interference filter (118) includes a plurality of single pole single throw (SPST) relays and power semiconductor switches (104-1, 104-2, 104-3, 104-4) arranged in a bridge configuration and a plurality of inductors (122-1, 122-2) connected to switching nodes for energy storage and current shaping. A DC-link capacitor (122) is connected to an output of the active front-end converter (102) to maintain a regulated DC-link voltage. A reconfiguration module (120) is electrically coupled to the inductors (122-1, 122-2) to enable different operating modes, enabling both grid charging and photovoltaic charging without a dedicated photovoltaic converter."
