MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631008756 A) filed by Kalinga Institute Of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Jan. 28, for 'system and method for heat exchanger design optimization using dhole optimization algorithm.'

Inventor(s) include Samal, Padarbinda.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) and method for heat exchanger design optimization using dhole optimization algorithm is disclosed. The system (100) comprises an input specifications module (102) configured to receive hot and cold fluid properties, flow arrangement configurations, and design constraints including minimum overall heat transfer coefficient, maximum pressure drop, and integer constraints for number of tubes. A mathematical modelling module (104) formulates objective functions including heat duty, logarithmic mean temperature difference, overall heat transfer coefficient, pressure drop calculations, heat transfer area, and total annual cost. An optimization and search engine (106) implements the dhole optimization algorithm to generate candidate design solutions with integer-handling mechanism and adaptive search behavior. An output optimal design module (108) delivers optimal heat exchanger geometry and best-performing total annual cost value."
