MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441085840 A) filed by Zentron Labs Private Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Jan. 8, 2025, for 'system and method for handling and grading a horticultural produce.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An embodiment herein provides a system and method for handling and grading a horticultural produce. The system includes the a singulator unit that is configured to receive objects, rotary rollers that is coupled to the singulator unit, and a visual inspection unit that is coupled to the rotary rollers. The singulator unit includes a first surface and a second surface that are configured to rotate at a different pre-determined speed, and arranges the objects in a sequential order. The rotary rollers rotate around an axis in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction to enable the sequentially arranged objects to roll. The visual inspection unit is configured to capture images of the objects received from the rotary rollers by rolling and tilting the objects in all directions, and determine an attribute comprising of at least one of a colour or a size by analysing the images using an image processing technique."
