MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115476 A) filed by Nims University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'system and method for grip training.'

Inventor(s) include Dikshita Das.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A variable grip training system (100) designed to enhance grip strength and endurance through adaptive resistance and texture modulation. The system comprises a gripping mechanism (101) with an outer shell (102) and an inner core (103), operatively connected to a diameter variation system (104) driven by an actuation mechanism (105) such as an electric motor, pneumatic, or hydraulic system. The grip diameter is dynamically altered using overlapping segments or flexible deformable material, while a texture variation system (106) provides adjustable tactile surfaces including knurled, ribbed, or abrasive patterns. A control unit (107) governs these systems based on programmed routines via a user interface (108). Integrated sensors (109) measure grip force and duration, with a biofeedback mechanism (110) delivering real-time guidance. A rechargeable or external power source (111), wireless connectivity, and safety features enable intelligent, customizable, and safe training with compatibility for external exercise equipment."
