MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087729 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'system and method for generating an optimized mesh structure for components of vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Anbalagan Venkatachalam; and Omprakash Bansal.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (102) for generating optimized mesh structure for components of vehicle. System (102) receives one or more input data pertaining to at least one surface, and create a Boundary Representation (BREP), by a BREP surface generator (104), for each of the at least one surface based on one or more parameters. System (102) converts the at least one surface associated with the BREP into an initial mesh structure. System (102) applies a surface normalization (108) to the initial mesh structure and regulate an orientation. System (102) creates at least one signature, by a descriptor (110), for initial mesh structure to derive a value comprises at least one of a surface function, and a vector space. Finally, system (102) generates an optimized mesh structure for the one or more components of the vehicle based on comparing the derived value of the initial mesh structure and at least one training dataset."
