MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115808 A) filed by IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 23, 2025, for 'system and method for fuzzy logic based intelligent distribution of work and responsibilities in academic institutions.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sapna Kumari.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a fuzzy logic based intelligent system for fair distribution of work and responsibilities in higher education institutions. The system comprises at least one institutional server, a database storing faculty and task profiles, and multiple networked terminals for department heads and administrators. Faculty profiles include academic qualifications, teaching experience, research output, administrative skills, student feedback, and workload history. Task profiles define effort level, time window, and required competencies. A fuzzy inference engine fuzzifies the parameters, evaluates a rule base, and generates a suitability score and workload balance index for each faculty task pair. An allocation module produces recommended assignments subject to configurable constraints on maximum load and mandatory duties. User interface displays recommendations, allows manual overrides with logging, and generates performance and transparency reports. The system can be deployed as desktop, web, or ERP integrated software running on institutional computing infrastructure. It enhances fairness and governance."
