MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521114765 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 20, 2025, for 'system and method for emotion-driven three-dimensional avatar animation using neural network-based speech processing.'

Inventor(s) include Parth Ubhe; Piyush Gawade; Priyanshu Singh; Pratyush Sinha; and Dr. Hema Karande.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented system for providing emotionally intelligent conversational interaction using three-dimensional avatar with synchronized facial animation and voice is disclosed. The system comprises a memory and a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor executes a user input processing module that receives text or voice input and converts voice to text using speech recognition, an emotion classification module that analyses text using a transformer-based neural network to determine emotion probabilities for predefined categories, an agent orchestration module that processes input with conversational history through a large language model to generate responses using persona-specific tools, a speech synthesis module that generates audio from response text through text-to-speech conversion, a facial animation module that generates avatar animation comprising lip-sync and expression animation using neural network algorithms based on audio and emotion data, and a visualization module that renders the avatar with synchronized audio and animation."
