MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521114143 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 19, 2025, for 'system and method for early detection of avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder in children.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a computer-implemented system and method for the screening and early detection of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) in children aged 6 to 12 years. The system comprises a biomedical data-acquisition interface (101), a data preprocessing unit (102), a machine learning prediction framework (103), and a result interpretation and report generation module (104). The invention further includes a validated ARFID screening questionnaire designed for the Indian population, developed through factor analysis and ROC-based cut-off modeling. The system predicts ARFID risk levels with high sensitivity and specificity, facilitating culturally relevant early diagnosis and clinical intervention."
