MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521121243 A) filed by Merai Newage Private Limited, Vapi, Gujarat, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'system and method for dynamic relocation of icons during surgical procedures.'
Inventor(s) include Salugu, Venkatachalapathi Rao; Yadav, Ravindra Kumar; Kuna, Narsimhulu; Chitturi, Hemanth; and Saravanan, Sakthi.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a robotic surgical system (100) configured for dynamic relocation of graphical user interface icons during surgical procedures. The system includes a patient-side cart (110) with multiple robotic arms (112) supporting surgical instruments, an endoscopic camera (302) for capturing live surgical video, and a vision cart (120) with a camera control unit (304) to process and transmit the video feed. A surgeon console (130) with a display unit (312), user control interface (408), and processor (306) overlays the plurality of graphical user interface icons (404) on the live feed. The processor (306) employs an artificial intelligence model (310) to detect and track surgical instrument tips, determine overlap between icons and instrument tips for a threshold duration, and dynamically relocate overlapping icons to alternative positions. When overlap ceases, the relocated icons automatically return to their original positions, ensuring unobstructed visualization during surgery."
