MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511132240 A) filed by IIMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 26, 2025, for 'system and method for distillation-based water purification.'
Inventor(s) include Nakul Gupta; Sarfaraz Alam; Shweta Sharma; and Ravi Rawat.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable distillation system (100) and a method (200) for producing distilled water are disclosed. The system (100) includes a housing (102) enclosing a heating chamber (104) configured to receive untreated water. A heating element (106) positioned within the heating chamber (104) is powered through a power source and is monitored by at least one temperature sensor (108). A control circuit (110) regulates electrical power supplied to the heating element (106) to maintain controlled operating conditions. Water vapor generated in the heating chamber (104) is directed through a vapor conduit (112) having a one-way vapor-flow mechanism (114) that restricts reverse flow. The vapor is condensed within a condenser assembly (116) including a thermally conductive coiled tube to form liquid distilled water. The condensed water is collected in a distilled-water collection container (118) isolated from the heating chamber (104)."
