MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132912 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'system and method for development of a digital twin for improving wireless localization.'
Inventor(s) include Chakraborty, Ayon; and Datta, Arko.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a system (100) and a method (1000) for development of a digital twin for improving wireless localization. The method (1000) comprises obtaining data including images captured by a plurality of image capturing devices (102) and Channel Impulse Response (CIR) spectrograms measured by a plurality of anchors (104) of one or more portions of a physical environment corresponding to which the digital twin is to be developed. A point cloud of the one or more portions is generated and a position and an orientation of each location of the one or more portions is estimated. The point cloud is segmented at object level. An attenuation coefficient and a boundary loss coefficient are assigned to each plurality of voxels clustered corresponding to the one or more objects for generating a digital twin. Based on the digital twin, a set of anchors is selected to be activated for performing wireless localization."
