MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521115131 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 21, 2025, for 'system and method for determining awareness levels of dietary management in gestational diabetes mellitus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a system (100) and method (200) for assessing knowledge on dietary patterns among populations diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM). The system (100) comprises a data collection module (101) for obtaining responses using a self-structured questionnaire, a data processing module (102) for organizing socio-demographic and dietary data, a statistical analysis module (103) for performing chi-square or equivalent tests to determine associations between variables and knowledge scores, and an output module (104) for displaying categorized awareness levels. The method (200) includes selecting participants (201), collecting responses (202), categorizing results (203), and interpreting outcomes (204) to identify significant correlations. The invention establishes that most population with GDM possess limited dietary knowledge and provides a standardized, data-driven framework for structured counselling and awareness programs to enhance gestational diabetes education and nutritional practices."
