MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641042302 A) filed by Seyed Ahamed Sathath; and Mohamed Furhana, Keezhakkarai, Tamil Nadu, on April 2, for 'system and method for defect-based disposition of aircraft engine and apu spares.'

Inventor(s) include Seyed Ahamed Sathath; and Mohamed Furhana.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a computer-implemented system and method for defect-based disposition of removed aircraft engine and auxiliary power unit (APU) spare parts. The system comprises a user terminal, at least one processor, a memory storing a defect-reference library associated with a plurality of spare-part classes, a decision engine, a tracking and routing module, and a communication interface. The defect-reference library stores condition records including reference images of defected and non-defected conditions, defect descriptors, and disposition information. A removed spare part is identified to the system, and observed-condition input relating to the spare part is received through guided prompts and optionally an image of the spare part. The processor retrieves and, where applicable, ranks a candidate subset of condition records corresponding to the spare-part class and the observed-condition input. A matched condition is selected, whereupon the system generates disposition output and updates a route state for handling by maintenance personnel."
