MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311083300 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 6, 2023, for 'system and method for controlling a cursor on a user interface.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (900) and a system (100) for controlling a cursor on a user interface. The method comprises determining user context information. The method includes acquiring past usage data corresponding to the user. Further, the method includes identifying target contents based on at least one of the determined user context information and the acquired past usage data. Moreover, the method includes receiving at least one user input command indicating a direction of the cursor. The method also includes determining a current position of the cursor. The method includes identifying a first target content based on the determined current position of the cursor and the direction of the cursor indicated by the at least one received user input command. Furthermore, the method includes controlling the cursor such as to enable the user to select the at least one identified first target content using a minimum number of subsequent user input commands."
