MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115496 A) filed by Nims University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'system and method for breath analysis.'

Inventor(s) include Ankit Kumar; and Saksham Bhardwaj.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A non-invasive breath analysis system (100) for disease diagnosis, comprising a breath collection unit (101) configured to receive and channel exhaled breath samples while preventing ambient contamination; a sensor array (102) including a volatile organic compound sensor (102a), nitric oxide sensor (102b), carbon dioxide sensor (102c), humidity sensor (102d), and environmental sensors (102e); and a microprocessor (103) for data processing and diagnostic computation. A display unit (104) presents diagnostic results, while machine learning algorithms (105) executed by the microprocessor identify disease-specific patterns. The system includes a power management system (106), wireless communication module (107), calibration system (108), and sample preprocessing unit (109) for conditioning samples. A data storage unit (110) securely retains results, calibration data, and models. The system enables accurate detection of biomarkers in exhaled breath, providing rapid, reliable, and patient-friendly diagnosis across respiratory, metabolic, and infectious diseases."
