MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004443 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology & Science, Pilani, Rajasthan, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'system & method for automated generation of building floorplan layouts for commercial buildings.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a floorplan generation system 10 purposed for commercial structures such as hospitals, schools, etc. The system 10 comprises a user interface 12 for enabling a user to interact therewith, a graph input module 20 for receiving an adjacency graph 34 comprising multiple vertices 38, each of which representing a room, and multiple lines or edges 36, each of which extending between two vertices 38, each line/edge 36 representative of the adjacency between the two rooms that correspond thereto, a basic floorplan module 22 for generating multiple basic floorplans 40 based on the inputted adjacency graph 34, a dimensions module 30 for receiving the dimensional constraints of each room, and a final floorplan module 32 for generating multiple dimensioned floorplans 60 with each room thereof adhering to the dimensional constraints."
