MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104985 A) filed by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited; and Unity Industrial Automation Private Limited, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'system and method for automated container inspection with 360-degree rotational scanning and validation.'
Inventor(s) include Madan, Bhawna; Rathore, Vivek; Patil, Parmeshwar; Kumar Kapil, Sanjeev; and Kapil, Anant.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system (100) and method (300) for automated container inspection and seal verification. The system (100) detects, using a plurality of sensors (106), an entry of an incoming container (108). The system (100) isolates and position using a plurality of stoppers (110) the container (108) in a flame proof scanning zone and activates cameras (112) rotatable by an actuator (114) to capture images of the container (108). The system (100) performs, using an AI processing module (116), dynamic image enhancement and error correction on the captured images to identify an obscured code for scanning along with a seal and detect the surface defects for validation. Based on the successful validation, the system (100) allows the validated container to the next processing stage and generates metadata string or upon invalidation activates a rejection mechanism to divert a rejected container (122) towards a rejection conveyor (124)."
