MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133536 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'system and method for ai-assisted pathology image segmentation and report generation.'
Inventor(s) include Jeyaseelan R; Sindhu S; Preethi Murali; and Ganesh Kumar D.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "System and Method for AI-Assisted Pathology Image Segmentation and Report Generation This present document provides a method and system for the analysis of pathology images using an automated pathology image analysis system. The analysis is performed based on the parameters of the acquisition and will be validated against established physical and optical criteria. Tissue representations are created based on the physical characteristics of the staining process using stain normalization and adaptive reconstruction techniques. An AI-powered segmentation module will apply histological and morphological laws to the tissue segmentation process, and will use disease-specific causal models for diagnostic confirmation. Only validated and confirmed segmentation results will be used in creating a diagnostic report using a provenance-based reporting system, allowing for full traceability and auditability. By enforcing technical constraints on AI execution through validation, histological laws, and causal verification, the method outlined in this document offers a significant improvement in the accuracy of pathology diagnostics, and contributes to a new type of patentable technological development in digital pathology."
