MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621023542 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Feb. 27, 2026, for 'system and method for agricultural weather monitoring and pest alert generation.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Rahul Bhargav; Himanshu Pawar; and Shikha Dange.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) for agricultural weather monitoring and pest alert generation includes a unified printed circuit board (102) having a top surface and a bottom surface, a hardware processor (104) mounted on the top surface of the unified printed circuit board (102), and a sensor cartridge (106) comprising an environmental sensor (108) positioned within a housing (110) and a multi-pin connector (112) having an asymmetric keying feature electrically connected to the environmental sensor (108). The hardware processor (104) is configured to acquire sensor measurement data from the environmental sensor (108) through conductive traces (114) on the unified printed circuit board (102) and determine pest outbreak risk based on the sensor measurement data. The hardware processor (104) generates an alert message based on the determined pest outbreak risk and communicate the alert message for agricultural pest alert generation."
