MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202548088152 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on Sept. 16, for 'system and memory with configurable error-correction code (ecc) data protection and related methods.'
Inventor(s) include Suh Jungwon; Chun Dexter Tamio; Srinivasan Anand; Alavoine Olivier; and Moll Laurent Rene.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A memory, comprising: a memory array, and a memory IO module coupled to the memory array and configured to control electrical characteristics to provide or to receive signals on a channel, wherein the memory IO module is configured to couple to a host through the channel, wherein the memory IO module includes a link ECC encoder and a link ECC decoder, the memory IO module is further configured, in a first mode, to receive a first write data and a write link ECC associated with the first write data and wherein the link ECC decoder is configured to use the write link ECC to detect or correct one or more errors in the first write data in a first write operation, and to receive a first read data stored in the memory array and generate a read link ECC associated with the first read data by the link encoder and provide the first read data and the read link ECC to the host in a first read operation."
The patent application was internationally filed on May 03, 2021, under International application No.PCT/US2021/030444.
