MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541134248 A) filed by Kanapathy Gopalakrishnan, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'system, design, method and development of urban air quality monitoring using sensors and embedded systems.'

Inventor(s) include Kuruba Rahul; Likith M; Mokshith V; Harisha M; Divakara M; Rohith S; and Venkatesh Kumar H.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The patent disclosure covers System, Design and Method of Development of Urban Air Quality Monitoring Using Sensors and Embedded Systems. This patent explains the idea, structure design of loT- based Urban Air Quality Monitoring and Alerting System. NodeMCU ESP8266 is used to regulate the moment, while metropolises are the reason to weakened of growing diligence, heavy business, and fast civic growth. Being exposed to small dust patches and dangerous feasts for a long time can beget serious health issues like breathing problems, heart conditions, and bigger environmental troubles. One of the major problem in recent era is the non-availability of eco-friendly system to check and monitor air quality. The invention introduces a low- cost, automatic air quality examiner that checks PM 2.5, PM1 0, moisture, temperature, nitrogen dioxide, and other feasts. It uses detectors like PMS5003, MQ-135, a N02 detector, DHT22, and ADS 1115 which integrated with ESP8266 microcontroller to analyze and measure the data collection of polluted air mixture. The system transfer collected data with the help of Wi-Fi module which results in druggies real-time updates, warnings, and cautions via Telegram Bot API tool. Beside loT and wireless communication system helps the people to have precaution for the pollution situations in harmful air pollution that may create problems like breathing, asthma, COPD and Stroke. This setup can be used continuously-in homes, manufactories, seminaries, andpublic areas. The systemhas two main corridor the Air Quality Detection( AQD) unit, which collects and analyzes data from detectors, and the Smart Reporting System( SRS), which handles communication, transferring cautions, and allows druggies to pierce information ever."
